What we test
Constant temperature and humidity
The tests that tie up your own chamber for weeks. We hold a fixed setpoint to ±0.1 °C and ±2 %RH for as long as your specification demands — 85 °C/85 %RH,40 °C/93 %RH, 1000-hour life tests, high- and low-temperature storage. Unattended, long-duration soaks to EC 60068-2-78, MIL-STD-202G Method 103B and JESD22-A101C.
Temperature extremes
Cold and dry heat across the full −70 °C to +180 °C envelope: IEC 60068-2-1 and -2-2, MIL-STD-810 Methods 501 and 502 (through 810H), ISO 16750-4 and GAM EG 13.
Damp heat and climatic cycling
Cyclic and combined temperature/humidity profiles: IEC 60068-2-30, -2-38 and -2-78, MIL-STD-810 Method 507, MIL-STD-202G Method 106D, MIL-STD-883J Method 1004.7, RTCA DO-160 Section 6 and ISO 16750-4 cyclic.
Rate of change and stress screening
Controlled-rate and ESS profiles: IEC 60068-2-14 Test Nb, RTCA DO-160 Section 5 and ISO 16750-4 temperature steps and cycling.
Testing across automotive, defence, aerospace, electronics and industrial sectors.
Why test with XTEMP
You are dealing with the people who know the equipment. XTEMP is the authorised distributor for Climats in South Africa — we don’t just operate the chamber, we service and calibrate it, and our applications engineers read the standard with you before the first thermocouple goes on. You get the applicable revision, severity and category confirmed up front, a profile built to match, and a report you can put in front of your customer.

Do you offer accredited testing? We provide test conditioning and reporting to the standards listed above. Where a formally accredited (ISO/IEC 17025) result is required, contact us and we will advise on the best route for your programme.
How do I book chamber time and what does it cost? Send us your specification and we will confirm what we can run, the price, and lead time. Chamber time is booked by the day.
Environmental Test Standards Matrix
Declared capability of the Climats EXCAL 4024 HA climatic test chamber. temperature, humidity and climatic-cycling test standards.
The chamber generates the full conditioning envelope required by the standard, within the declared temperature, humidity and rate limits. |
Achievable within a stated limit — a severity class, a condition letter, an option, or subject to thermal-load verification. The limit is stated in every case. |
Not achievable in a single-zone climatic chamber. Requires two-zone shock, altitude, salt mist or splash-water equipment. |

| Scope statement. The Climats EXCAL 4024 HA generates the temperature and humidity conditioning required by the standards listed above, within the envelope −70 °C / +180 °C and +10 °C to +95 °C at 5–98 %RH. Standards or clauses requiring two-zone thermal shock, altitude simulation, salt mist or splash-water conditioning fall outside the scope of a single-zone climatic chamber and are declared as such. XTEMP will confirm the applicable revision, severity and category against your specification before any test is scoped. |
